Directions

From I-5, take exit 21 in Woodland. Head east on Highway 503 for about 23 miles to the intersection with 503 spur by Jack's Restaurant. Continue on the spur for about 7 miles. Turn left on Forest Road 83 and continue for 5.5 miles to the June Lake Trailhead sign on the left.

Notes

June Lake Trail is where you start off accessing the Loowit Trail. Shortly before the 1.7 mile end of the June Lake Trail (where you'll reach the trail sign for the Loowit Trail), you'll pass the 70-foot June Lake Falls.

The terrain around Mount St. Helens is quite varied.

Loowit is the American Indian name for Mount St. Helens and means Lady of Fire.
