From Hoodsport, travel Highway 101 north for 14 miles to Forest Service Road 25 (Hamma Hamma Recreation Area). Turn left on Forest Road 25 and follow for 12 miles to the Putvin Trailhead. Forest Service Road 25 is paved to Lena Lake Trailhead (8 miles).
Notes
This trail enters Mount Skokomish Wilderness and after 3 miles enters Olympic National Park. The trail is very steep and difficult in places. There are a few campsites scattered along the trail. Once Lake of the Angels is reached, one can find numerous way-trails and paths leading in many different directions.
Food and Water
Don’t forget to pack some energizing snacks and plenty of water. If you need to treat water, water treatment pills can help, but only boiling water can kill the parasite Giardia.
