I-5 to Cook Road (exit 232) east to Highway 20. Turn left (east) and continue to about 18 miles past Newhalem at milepost 138.4. Look for a large parking lot and the East Bank Trailhead sign. This is also the trailhead for Ruby Creek.

Notes

SR 20 typically closes about mid-November and reopens in mid-April.

After crossing the bridge spanning Ruby Creek, turn right at the T intersection.

When you reach the sign stating you're entering the Ross Lake National Recreation Area, continue for about 20 feet and cross the bridge. There you'll see Crater Creek before it converges with Ruby Creek.

At this bridge, you could turn back ro continue another 2.5 miles to the Canyon Creek Trailhead at milepost 141.3.
