Notes
SR 20 typically closes about mid-November and reopens in mid-April.
After crossing the bridge spanning Ruby Creek, turn right at the T intersection.
When you reach the sign stating you're entering the Ross Lake National Recreation Area, continue for about 20 feet and cross the bridge. There you'll see Crater Creek before it converges with Ruby Creek.
At this bridge, you could turn back ro continue another 2.5 miles to the Canyon Creek Trailhead at milepost 141.3.

Signal
Forests can be thick, but there are ways to get help if you’re lost. Keep a whistle and a metal mirror handy. Also, wear bright colors so rescuers can spot you easily.
