Directions

Travel east on Hwy 14 from Vancouver, WA to Bingen. Head North on Hwy 141 for 22-miles to the town of Trout Lake. At the gas station in Trout Lake, veer right. The Pine Side Sno-Park is 5 miles from Trout Lake on Forest Road 82. The trailhead is across the road from the Sno-Park.

Notes

If you head to the Big Tree Loop in November, bring your snowshoes (or skis). Early snows can blanket the area and be a pleasant surprise in this area marked by huge old growth pine trees.

The unobstructed view of Mt. Adams on Trail #8020 is spectacular. For the best route, follow the loop in a clockwise direction, taking the trails in this order: #041, #020, #025 (to see the huge pine tree), #8020, and #041 to the end.

Neighboring Pipeline Loop (accessed off trail #8255) is better for a more aggressive outing.
