From I-5, take State Highway 20 (North Cascades Highway) east. Approximately 16 miles past Sedro-Woolley, turn left onto Baker Lake-Grandy Lake Road. Follow the road to the end - about 23 miles - and the parking lot. The last 5 miles of the road are gravel.

Road 1168 in the Baker Lake Basin of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.

This trail features some enormous trees - massive red cedars are everywhere. Other trees along the trail include western hemlock, Pacific silver fir, black cottonwood, and red alder.

At Sulphide Camp, there are several campsites where tents can be pitched.

Looking up the valley from the bed of Sulphide Creek, Jagged Ridge and Crystal Glacier on the east side of Mount Shuksan can be seen.
