Weather Conditions
Sunny with temps in low to mid 60’s
Trail Conditions
Generally a well-trodden hard packed trail. A fair width for most sections with a couple spots with elevated pathways in areas where water collects/flows across the trail. Keep an eye out for roots criss-crossing the trail.
Fauna
Saw a few birds and heard a few more. Also could hear a squirrel letting all know of its presence. There was a big bee climbing inside a Lady’s Glove.
Flora
Ferns, Madrona, Cedar, Oregon Grape, Holly. Looked like a couple blooms of red Indian Paintbrush and Lady’s Glove.
Scenic Views
Along most of the trail, peek-a-boo views of Saratoga Passage and Whidbey Island.
Hiking Companions
A solo trek.
Hiking Gear
Nothing special for a walk in the park.
Food and Water
Carried none on the trail. Back at the rig, water, applesauce pouches, and toasted corn/peanut mix (Flows Tasty Treats).
