Directions
I-5 to Cook Road (exit 232) east to Highway 20. Turn left (east) and continue to Marblemount. At the SR 20 corner, go straight ahead, crossing the Skagit River Bridge on the Cascade River Road (Forest Service Road 15). Continue east for seven miles and look for the trailhead sign just beyond the river valley overlook, between two creeks.

A challenge, to say the least. Map - USGS 7.5-minute quadrangle map: Big Devil Peak. Spur to lake adds 2.1 miles and a 4,200-foot elevation gain.
