Summary

Although the tide was out during this particular trek, the views were spectacular. The wind today helped keep comfortable while the mid-day sun was beating down. Interesting to see the serpentine deeper sections of the flowing water along the tidelands.

The trail was in good condition

Fauna

Birds such as red-winged blackbird and other small birds. Lots of caterpillars along the trail this time.

Flora

Nothing exceptional of note.

Scenic Views

From the north end, viewing south, could see Mount Rainier in the distance. To the northeast able to see Mount Baker. Views along the trail are wonderful to see across the water to the San Juan islands.
