Directions
Drive east on State Highway 410 from Enumclaw 33.1 miles to the Crystal Mountain Road #7190. Turn left (east) and follow it 4.2 miles to Gold Hills Road #7190410. Turn left (east) and follow it 3.0 miles to trailhead. Trailhead is on right side of road. Road #7190410 is a narrow, single lane road with few turnouts. No road turnaround at trailhead.
Access via Crystal Mountain Trailhead: Same as above, but from Highway 410 follow the Crystal Mountain Road for 6.4 miles. Park in the Crystal Mountain Resort base area upper parking lot. Follow access roads behind Crystal Mt. Chapel to trailhead.
Notes
Begin at the Crystal Mountain Resort base area, uphill from the chapel and hike under Gold Hills Chair 7. From the right side of Chair 7 the trail enters timber to Jim Town, an old mining camp at mile 1.7. This is also the junction with Crystal Mountain Trail 1163. The trail then climbs to Bear Gap and Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail 2000 and Henskin Lake Trail 1193 at mile 2.1.
