Notes
Starting off on Squires Lake Trail, it's a short (0.3 miles) but moderate hike to begin. Steep at the beginning, but once you get to the top of the first part, the initial effort was worth it as you get your first glimpse of Squires Lake.
Take a left and follow the Squires Lake Loop trail. When you get to the southern end of the lake, you can take a left to head towards the Beaver Pond Loop Trail for 0.4 miles before reconnecting to the Squires Lake Loop trail.
After reconnecting, follow the trail westward to the next junction. Taking a right will take you back to the beginning of the Squires Lake Loop. Taking a left will connect you to the South Ridge Trail after 0.2 miles. At that connection, turn right to head north along the South Ridge trail. After about 900 feet, there will be a junction to the right that can take you back down to the Squires Lake Loop trail. Alternatively, continue to the left along the ridge before it ends back to the Squires Lake Loop. In either case, take a left and you'll be able to make your way back to the parking lot.
