At 6.6 miles from the ranger district is a small paved pullout at Murphy Creek and the southern trailhead.
Notes
Wind through remnant old growth, mature second growth and young riparian forest on this mossy trail as it follows the Sauk River. The addition of a new barrier-free loop trail, accessed from a second parking area, make this a good choice for hikers of all abilities. Watch birds, view salmon and discover wildlife tracks on this enjoyable outing.
