This trails starts behind the Multnomah Falls Lodge. Follow the trail across the Benson Bridge. After approximately 0.5 miles, turn right at the junction and begin your ascent. After another 0.5 miles, a junction to the right will take you to the Multnomah Falls Overlook after 0.2 miles. This extra jaunt will add a total of 0.4 miles to your hike. Following the junction to the left will take you higher eventually passing Weisendanger Falls and Ecola Falls. Approximately 0.7 miles beyond the aforementioned junction, you come to another junction. Keep to the left to continue to Larch Mountain.
